Over forty years after PUNK was established as a genre, MILK showed a turning point of ideas that no one had ever reached before.
It has the tension and development of hardcore, but with just a little gap between the two, a completely new sound can be heard.
The sound is a combination of all punk elements from 70s New York punk, original UK punk, early 80s hardcore and pop punk, with an almost naive method of output. MILK, an album that could only have come out of Nagoya, Japan's number one punk city.
In the 80s, indie and guitar pop, which emerged as post-punk, inherited the spirit and attitude of punk and evolved. What MILK did, however, was to go the exact opposite way. The beat is unmistakably punk, but the guitars are not distorted, the rhythms are not loud, and there is a miraculous combination of humour and emotion. If you like punk at some point in your life, you'll definitely find something in this album. Just give it a listen!

The Minneapolis band add a horn section, a running surrealist allegory about walls, and an occasional nod to the elegiac to their electroshocked post-punk. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 4, 2024
New York hardcore meets classic thrash metal meets Jane's Addiction-esque alternative on the Brooklyn crushers' sensational debut. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 13, 2023
Opener absolutely rips. Falls into the ranks of tracks like “Dance” by ESG, “Eisbaer” by Grauzone, “Damaged Goods” by Gang of Four or like the album description says Kleenex. This is some really good stuff. Favorite song is the opener but dedicate “Blue” to my friend Blue who lost her life at 22, she would have loved this album. TheBloodofChrist
